Position Description:

The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville invites applications for a full-time Instructor position starting February 1, 2025. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated educator with a passion for teaching and a commitment to excellence in bioengineering education.

Position Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate bioengineering courses, including but not limited to:

    • Rehabilitation Engineering

    • Biomedical Device Design

    • Introduction to Bioengineering

    • Advanced Biomaterials

    • Advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) in Bioengineering

  • Develop and deliver innovative, inclusive, and engaging course materials.

  • Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department’s academic programs.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field by the start date of February 1, 2025.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in bioengineering or related disciplines.

  • Proficiency in modern teaching methodologies, including the use of digital and interactive learning tools.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry or research experience related to bioengineering fields.

  • Experience with curriculum development and interdisciplinary teaching approaches.

  • Familiarity with advanced computational tools and technologies used in bioengineering education and practice.
