College/Department Information
The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University, we provide dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.
Job Summary
This position will coordinate academic affairs activities such as academic schedules, room assignments, monitor course enrollments, CIR, attendance verifications, monitor course scheduling requests and serve as the initial review for scheduling and curriculum change requests for the predoctoral and advanced education programs. This position will serve as the schedule coordinator to the Registrar's Office for the DCG.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PREDOCTORAL AND COURSE SCHEDULES: Coordinate predoctoral semester schedules, and accurately input final course schedules, sections, and course information into Banner by deadlines for predoctoral curriculum.
COORDINATE, REVIEW, AND ENSURE ACCURATE INPUT: Coordinate advanced education curriculum with department administrative assistants, review and ensure accurate input of final course schedules, sections, and course information into Banner by deadlines. Coordinate curriculum changes for predoctoral and advanced education, submit changes through Curriculog, and ensure catalog aligns with curriculum.
ACADEMIC RECORDS: Facilitate collection and accuracy of academic records from departments including curriculum inventory reporting, attendance verifications, and high impact/attribute coding.
CLASSROOM SCHEDULING: Coordinate classroom scheduling and utilization with Classroom Services, reserve classrooms through scheduling software, and administer schedule for the Sim Lab.
ANNUAL CALENDAR: Draft the annual calendar for approval.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS PROJECTS: Support Academic Affairs projects as needed including but not limited to Curriculum, Assessment and Compliance, and Accreditation.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization with a minimum of nine years of progressively responsible office support experience.
OR
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of six years of progressively responsible office support experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Banner, PowerPoint, Compliance Assist, Curriculog, and Qualtrics.
Working knowledge of the policies and procedures.
Professional dress and demeanor are required.
SKILLS
Excellent customer service skills and communication (including telephone).
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to interact with a wide variety of people including faculty, students, residents, deans, and staff across the university, as well as external stakeholders.
Ability to multitask and handle a heavy workload.
Ability to proofread with a high level of accuracy. Ability to accurately create, format, and schedule curriculum & classrooms.
Ability to quickly learn software.
