The Manager of Enterprise Security Service Operations (ESSO) works closely with the Director of Enterprise Security Services Operations to manage and evaluate Enterprise Security Services operations. This role ensures compliance with operational, regulatory, state, federal, clinical, and business requirements for Duarte facilities and other assigned locations. The manager oversees operational support for the Duarte Campus and other facilities, providing functional assistance to the Director in implementing process changes, optimizing operational systems, and updating departmental policies and procedures. Utilizing LEAN and/or Six Sigma methodologies, they facilitate process improvements, establish performance metrics, and review budgets effectively. The manager also leads project planning, solves problems efficiently, and collaborates with ESO, network, and satellite leadership to drive enterprise strategies. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Director in maintaining planning systems, preparing reports, and presenting recommendations to senior management. With responsibility for managing complex interdisciplinary projects and supervising staff, the manager ensures timely project completion while overseeing daily operations and contracted Physical Security Service providers at assigned locations.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Manage day-to-day physical security operations for Duarte and assigned facilities, ensuring performance metrics, visual boards, process improvements, and compliance with regulatory, state, federal, and local requirements.
  • Establish and monitor corrective action plans and collaborate with senior leaders to develop vendor strategies.
  • Apply LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies to create standard work, solve business problems, and improve processes using data analysis.
  • Ensure staff excellence and cost-effective delivery of high-quality services, recognizing and celebrating individual and team achievements.
  • Manage physical security service providers and vendors, conduct performance evaluations, and develop improvement strategies while collaborating with Human Resources as needed.
  • Assist with operating reviews, variance reports, and annual budget development; review financial data to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Build governance structures, organizational portfolios, and planning tools to support future development and transformational efforts.
  • Oversee business and operational systems, identify and implement improvement strategies, and establish plans for growth initiatives with clear performance goals and risk assessments.
  • Develop reporting systems, accountability measures, and success metrics, ensuring high-quality outputs such as presentations and reports.
  • Collaborate with leaders to drive cultural transformation and align organizational priorities with City of Hope’s mission and vision.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with ESS/Facilities and SCM Senior Leadership teams.
  • Speak confidently with leadership, demonstrating great communication skills and the ability to hold their own when meeting with executives and discussing the security process.
  • Adhere to City of Hope policies, safety, and infection control guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating integrity.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include:

Minimum Education required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Economics, Organizational Development, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Information Security, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in a related field, including one (1) year in a leadership or management capacity.
  • OR Eight (8) years of experience in a related field, including one (1) year in a leadership or management capacity

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 1 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity

Required Certification/Licensures:

  • Current CA Driver’s license
  • American Heart Association BLS (within three months of hire)
  • Valid California Driver's License

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $44.89 - $74.97 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
