Summary
The Psychology Division of the Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a half-time clinical research assistant to aid in the day-to-day management of a research protocol related to treatment of children and adolescents with functional seizures. The role will include recruiting patients, scheduling study visits according to a research protocol, development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data quality assurance, collecting data according to standard procedures, using electronic data capture systems, and delivery of a standardized intervention for the control group condition.
The position is part-time and hybrid, offering a flexible work schedule. It includes two full days and one half day each week.
Job Duties
- Interviews, screens, and recruits patients for the study; explains process and procedures to educate participants regarding the research study
- Collects patient information, processes documents, and enters information into databases
- Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for the research study
- Schedules research participants for study visits and assists participants with navigation of the study
- Conducts baseline and follow-up study visits
- Serves as a coach for participants randomized to the control group condition, delivering a validated treatment targeting mood
- Places reminder calls or emails for therapy visits and helps manage the schedule of the psychologists providing the therapy
- Orders supplies and equipment
- Provides general administrative support to the research team and other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Education and/or experience in interviewing, psychology, counseling, social work, or education.
- Prior experience as a research coordinator and/or with clinical research.
