The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at UMB are recruiting a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with expertise in structural biology, DNA damage/repair, gene regulation in cancer, cancer signaling, cancer therapeutics, and/or other emerging areas of cancer biology. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary academic community committed to advancing research, education, and service in translating basic science research to the clinic.Campus/School Information

Position Information
Position Title: Assistant or Associate Professor, tenure-track
Department/Division/School: Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, SOM
Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 depending on rank and qualifications
Background Checks
Employment at UMB is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. A background check does not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment. Key Responsibilities
• Conduct research and contribute to scholarship in cancer biology.
• Teach and mentor medical and graduate students.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives within UMB and with external partners.
• Engage in service activities that align with the university’s mission.
Minimum Qualifications
• Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated commitment to research, teaching, and service.
• Strong potential for securing extramural funding. While all applicants are encouraged, priority will be given to individuals who have already been successful in obtaining research funding from the NCI.
• Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive academic environment.
• Experience in interdisciplinary research or cross-disciplinary collaborations.
