Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:This incumbent will work on a project that is sponsored by the Center for Regional and Rural Connected Communities - CR2C2. The project focuses on rural road safety. He will be working on a hardware/software application to sense hazards, warn the driver, and broadcast warnings to other drivers.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Non-Essential - Application development using Python and YOLOV8 Object Detection Library. The application will include computer vision processing of both digital/infrared and thermal camera imagery.
15% - Non-Essential - Prototype hardware assembly and field testing of a roadside unit. This includes cameras, Nvidia Orin Jetson processor, Cohda C2X devices, solar power supply including inverter, case, and pole.
20% - Non-Essential - Prototype hardware assembly and field testing of an on-board unit. This includes cameras, Nvidia Orin Nano processors, Cohda C2X devices, and vehicle mounting hardware.
15% - Non-Essential - Software development for the C2X communications infrastructure.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent
Work Experience - 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Pay Range: $ 22/hour
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
