The Director of Product Management Business Applications is a transformational leader focused on optimizing and advancing DFCIâs enterprise platforms, with a primary emphasis on Workday and UKG. This role builds and evolves foundational governance structures, product management frameworks, and prioritization models that will shape enterprise technology delivery. The Director of Product Management, Business Applications collaborates with senior business and IT leaders to define strategy, drive alignment, and ensure platforms evolve to meet organizational goals. This is a hands-on role for a strategic, process-oriented leader who thrives in building teams and maturing enterprise engagement models. The Director of Product Management Business Applications will champion the delivery of measurable business value through enterprise applications. Strategic Product Leadership
- Define and lead a multi-year product vision and roadmap for Workday and UKG, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and evolving business priorities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, identifying opportunities to leverage platform capabilities for innovation, efficiency, and business growth.
- Translate cross-functional needs into a cohesive product strategy that balances innovation, compliance, and operational stability.
Portfolio and Roadmap Governance
- Own the intake and prioritization of platform enhancements and initiatives through a transparent, scalable governance framework grounded in business value and strategic alignment.
- Lead enterprise roadmap planning cycles, ensuring platform investments reflect a balanced approach to innovation, risk mitigation, and organizational priorities.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in release planning, shaping the adoption strategy for new features and capabilities to maximize business impact, user value, and innovation potentialâwhile collaborating closely with operational teams to ensure smooth execution.
High-Performance Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a team of product managers and analysts, driving excellence in product ownership, delivery execution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and user-centered design across all product initiatives.
- Equip the team with tools, frameworks, and coaching to scale product management maturity and business impact.
- Define and communicate clear expectations, provide regular constructive feedback, and evaluate performance against objectives. Oversee teamâs compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Monitor work for efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. Work with senior management and Human Resources to address performance issues, as appropriate. Promote and foster a healthy and productive work environment within the team and with groups across the Institute.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted partnerships with HR, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure business goals are reflected in platform priorities.
- Facilitate strategic alignment through steering committees, executive briefings, and governance forums.
- Communicate product vision, roadmap status, and value realization clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Operational Excellence:
- Drive platform adoption and business process optimization by ensuring intuitive, effective use of Workday and UKG capabilities.
- Lead enterprise change management strategiesâincluding training, communication, and supportâto improve user experience and maximize business outcomes.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within Workday and UKG environments.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Manage strategic vendor relationships with Workday, UKG, and key implementation partners to drive value, accountability, and service quality.
- Partner with procurement and legal teams on contract negotiations, renewals, and performance management to support long-term vendor alignment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role has direct leadership responsibility for a team of Product Managers for the Workday and UKG platforms. The Director will oversee hiring, coaching, performance management, resource allocation, and professional development, while fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and customer-focused team culture.
- Bachelorâs degree required in relevant field of study.
- 10 years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years leading enterprise business applications, preferably in healthcare or similarly complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with Workday and/or UKG platforms at a leadership or product ownership level.
- Proven track record of managing complex business applications, such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, or financial systems.
- Experience working in or with highly regulated, mission-driven environments (e.g., healthcare, research, or education) is highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Proven track record of leading the end-to-end product lifecycle for complex enterprise platforms, including vision setting, multi-year roadmap development, prioritization frameworks, and delivery oversight in complex, matrixed stakeholder environments.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performing product management teams, with a focus on talent development, role clarity, and accountability.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, with the ability to synthesize complex organizational needs into actionable product strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence, align, and collaborate across diverse stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams.
- Deep understanding of modern product management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, OKRs) and tools, with experience embedding best practices across teams and processes.
- Broad business acumen with the ability to quickly understand enterprise functions such as HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations, and translate domain knowledge into scalable technology solutions.
- Strong analytical mindset and data fluency, leveraging KPIs, product metrics, and user feedback to inform decisions, measure impact, and guide continuous improvement.
