The Data Solutions Specialist III serves as the bridge between data engineering and business intelligence, transforming raw data into accessible, reliable, and actionable information. This position is responsible for designing and maintaining shared data models, developing robust data assets, and producing high-quality reports and dashboards that support institutional decision-making. The Data Solutions Specialist III works collaboratively with the Enterprise Data Architect, data governance, IT, and functional units to ensure consistency, quality, and security across the analytics environment.

Major/Essential Functions

Collects Customer Requirements & Objectives for Reports, Metrics, and Dashboards.
Develops Enterprise and Executive-level Dashboards, Reports, and Metrics.
Creates and Manages Data Assets, including Semantic Models, and Dataflows to support self-service content creators.
Works with Data Owners to create user-friendly common data models.
Works with Data Governance to integrate Business Glossaries, Metadata, and other references.
Plans for deployment and architecture, including integration with other services and data platforms.
Publishes and manages data assets which are utilized broadly across the organization including lakehouse, data warehouse, dataflows, and data pipeline.
Exercises independent professional judgment in applying analytical methods, interpreting results, and advising university leaders on data-informed decisions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. Three years of progressively responsible experience in data analytics, modeling, or business intelligence development.
