As a Physical Therapist at Cleveland Clinic, you willutilizevarious treatmentsandexercises tohelp patientsincrease strength, range of motion,enduranceand coordinationin the comfort of their homes.Since this position requirescloseinteraction,you will have the opportunity tobuild strong patient relationshipsand enhance their overall experience.Often,yourpatients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important.By showing compassion and patience,you canassistpatientsinregaining thedrive they need to work hard andheal.In this role you will support patients living through eastern Cuyahoga County.

A caregiver in this position worksMonday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a scheduled day off if working the weekend. Weekends are Saturday and Sunday – 12 Saturdays and 6 Sundays with 1 holiday weekend. 1 holiday required (either winter or summer holiday).

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Establish,reviseand evaluate plans of care.
  • Perform physical therapy interventionsutilizingstandard physical therapy techniques and skillsappropriate forthe patient’s age and condition.
  • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants,studentsand other support caregivers.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all timesregardingpatient condition and the effectiveness and timeliness of care and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary assessments of assigned patients.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’sDegree or certificate
  • Graduate of a Physical TherapyProgram accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)Certificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross
  • ValidDriver’sLicense(VDL)and proof of $100,000/$300,000automobile insurance coverage

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of clinical experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist in an acute, rehab or skilled nursing setting


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
  • Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
  • Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
  • Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
  • Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
  • Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
  • Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
