Job Description
The Department of Chemistry at Columbia University invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist with an expertise in biomolecular simulation and statistical mechanics.The position will begin as early as August 10, 2026, with the possibility of renewal, subject to work eligibility and the usual standards for satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
Responsibilities include running free energy perturbation calculations on complex biological systems like ion channels and interpreting the results, and developing novel free energy methods for complex problems
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have Ph.D. in chemical physics or related field.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemical Physics, or related fields, plus a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience with molecular dynamics, statistical mechanics, biological simulation, and free energy perturbation methods.
