Job Description
Academic Scheduling Business Process Lead: (40%)● Conducts system wide academic scheduling optimizations and final exam batch scheduling: gathers and analyzes user requirements; reviews user requests; provides recommendations with appropriate technical solutions to meet business requirements, conducts optimizations.
● Leads work-flow for schedule of classes production: maintains in-depth knowledge of all PeopleSoft Schedule of Classes and 25Live business processes and provides technical guidance to less experienced staff. Leads production calendar driven processes.
● Ensures documentation of related business processes and requirements.
● Communicates with users, departments, and campuses to keep them updated.
● Provides updates and performs presentations at user informational sessions and user group conferences.
Scheduling system support (Maintenance): (25%)
● Maintains 25Live database for data integrity.
● Data-security development, maintenance, and improvement for all user roles and profiles in 25Live
● Maintains security, customizations and documentation for users system-wide including, but not limited to: public facing scheduling calendars, roles, forms, pricing formulas, etc.
● Works with 25Live System Administrator, vendors, and users to develop and test 25Live upgrades and bundles: provides quality control through appropriate testing, creates test conditions, performs testing, reports defects, etc.
● Functions as application expert (second tier support) for help-line staff system-wide.
● Represents user perspective on design and interface changes to the system.
● Works closely with the Scheduling team to share understanding.
● Provides backup for the 25Live system administrator as needed.
● Works with management to communicate, share concerns, and software impacts.
Report development and maintenance: (25%)
● Organizes and maintains security for delivered and customized reports for end users.
● Uses established processes and procedures to extract data and prepare Space Utilization reports at the end of each semester for publication on OCM website.
● Prepares and runs ad hoc queries and reports as requested utilizing PeopleSoft Query, Data Warehouse, 25Live, etc.
● Evaluates the ongoing development of UM Analytics and any other innovative tools to assess their benefits to OCM with an eye for replacing current reporting methods
● Demonstrates good judgment, sound decision making, and professional expertise in support of OCM's reporting objectives.
Other duties: (10%)
● Gain and maintain knowledge of tools used to support enterprise systems (i.e., SQL, PeopleTools, workflow, and web tools).
● Collaborates with University community on scheduling and software needs, including study space application.
● Represents OCM on related committees and task forces.
● Works effectively with other ASR staff.
● Individual development planning.
● Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications (Core Competencies)
● At least three years experience with scheduling software systems.
● Previous experience working in a business or analyst capacity supporting education data and reporting utilizing one or many of the following tools: PeopleSoft Query Manager, UM Analytics, UM Reports / Reporting Center, Data Warehouse.
● Experience working with University data and tools.
● Significant experience with SQL and Crystal Reports.
● Experience/training in higher education, Enterprise Scheduling Systems, and PeopleSoft.
● Direct experience with academic scheduling and related business practices.
● Knowledge of principles and techniques of training.
● Ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with technically proficient and non-technically proficient individuals.
● Ability to sufficiently understand and analyze data to recognize data anomalies and problems and suggest corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
● BA/BS degree required, plus
o Two years of work experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis with a related degree, or Master's degree
● Demonstrated experience in business analysis best practices, project management, and system troubleshooting techniques.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong customer service skills.
● Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills
● Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, manage projects and work independently.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $74,861- $78,700; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
