Job Description

Job Overview
The Extended Reality (XR) Laboratory, directed by Professor Ming Tang within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant. This role involves supporting ongoing research and development initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, workforce training, and digital heritage preservation.

Essential Functions
Create 3D models and generate digital assets for XR environments.
Design and implement runtime data collection methodologies.
Develop XR applications for VR headset platforms.
Support generative AI and procedural modeling workflows for building imaging.
Document research methods, results and findings in technical reports and presentations.
Conduct literature reviews and contribute to the development of novel research approaches.
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.

Required Experience
XR app development using Unreal Engine.
