Job Description

Summary

The Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine is seeking a research administration associate to support the section's post-award activities, including effort management in PEPT/ERS, SAP transactions, sponsored programs budget and expense management, invoicing, reporting and compliance.

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

Job Duties

  • Manage grants and contracts for GI and Hepatology Research, providing post-award financial and administrative support to faculty and staff.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the grants management process.
  • Review and analyze current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of grant administration.
  • Review and approve financial and administrative transactions, certifying summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
  • May contribute to the preparation, monitoring, and reconciliation of budgets for grant quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes.
  • Prepare financial reports and track research mission financials for department leadership review for the financial performance of grants and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and all applicable guidelines.
  • Prepare outgoing subcontracts and review incoming subcontracts.
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, department leadership, College administrative offices, and sponsors to facilitate effective grant management.
  • Analyze grant and contract financial activity and make recommendations to improve financial stewardship and compliance.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
