Job Summary
The Lead Analyst Pharmacy Business supports the financial and operational management of a large, complex academic pharmacy enterprise. This position provides financial analysis, capital planning support, complex project coordination, and operational support for departmental priorities and executive leadership.

The Lead Analyst Pharmacy Business serves as a business and financial operations resource to the Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer for Pharmacy Business Operations. The position supports the Department of Pharmacy Services' financial and operational priorities through disciplined financial analysis, capital planning, business analysis, cross-functional coordination, and project execution.

The department manages approximately $1.86 billion in annual pharmaceutical expenses and generates approximately $2.73 billion in annual revenue. The Lead Analyst Pharmacy Business assists executive pharmacy leadership in making informed decisions and evaluating the alignment of institutional resources with the pharmacy enterprise objectives.

Responsibilities*
Financial and Operational Management

Collaborate with pharmacy leaders and Central Finance on short- and long-term financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and resource stewardship.
Serve as a key operational contact between the Department of Pharmacy Services and Central Finance.
Serve as a key operational contact between the Pharmacy Enterprise and region finance services
Provide day-to-day operational analytical support for Pharmacy Business Operations.
Track and assess financial and operational trends and analyze departmental operating and capital budgets, financial performance, and resource utilization, in coordination with Central Finance
Assist in translating strategic objectives into actionable work plans, milestones, resource requirements, and performance measures.
Track progress, identify barriers, facilitate issue resolution, and communicate results to executive pharmacy leadership.
Provide analysis of the operational implications of proposed programs, service changes, workforce models, and other business decisions.
Provide pharmacy executive leadership with timely analyses and recommendations regarding performance and priorities.
Analyze results and outcomes to highlight contributing factors, trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
Develop supporting operational analyses, reports, business cases, and executive-level materials to support leadership decision-making.
Contribute to improvements in financial reporting in partnership with Central Finance.
Review, approve, and authorize departmental financial transactions, vouchers, expenditures, and capital purchases within delegated authority and in accordance with institutional policies.
Capital Planning and Program Management

Support a comprehensive, multiyear capital planning process aligned with departmental and institutional priorities.
Coordinate the identification, evaluation, prioritization, and sequencing of pharmacy capital needs.
Coordinate capital approval processes, procurement activities, project implementation, and financial tracking.
Monitor capital expenditures and project performance, identifying budget variances, implementation risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Partner with pharmacy leadership, Finance, Supply Chain, Facilities, Procurement, and other institutional stakeholders to ensure capital projects are appropriately planned and executed.
Facilities and Operational Infrastructure

Provide collaborative business, financial, and operational support for the 150,000-square-foot Joy Road Pharmacy Operations Center.
Coordinate facility-related operating and capital needs in partnership with operational leaders and institutional facilities teams.
Support long-term infrastructure planning, space utilization, business continuity, and operational readiness.
Analyze the financial and operational implications of facility investments, maintenance requirements, and infrastructure changes.
Help ensure facility resources and investments support safe, reliable, and efficient pharmacy operations.
Collaboration and Organizational Partnership

Maintain effective, consultative relationships across Pharmacy Services and with institutional partners.
Supports workforce optimization efforts for the Pharmacy enterprise by partnering with executive leadership, Central Finance, region finance, and operational leaders to analyze organizational structures, staffing models, budget assumptions, and performance reporting with departmental and health system objectives
Coordinate complex cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives for Pharmacy executive leadership, promoting alignment across operational, financial, clinical, and administrative stakeholders. Facilitates planning, tracks timelines and dependencies, synthesizes data, and supports implementation in accordance with organizational goals and governance requirements.
Partner closely with Shared Services Finance, Central Finance, Pharmacy Reimbursement, Supply Chain, 340B, Pharmacy Analytics, Pharmacy Administration, Facilities, Procurement, and other teams to coordinate business processes.
Partner with ambulatory and acute care pharmacy operations leaders to assess the financial and operational impact of business decisions.
Inform roles, responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables across functions while recognizing that operational accountability remains with the respective departments and leadership decisions remain with executive leaders.
Foster collaborative processes that align institutional resources with pharmacy priorities and promote accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
