Job Description

We are looking for creative thinkers and storytellers who want to make a difference in student lives. If that describes you, we invite you to consider a career in the Department of Media. We are seeking candidates with a Master’s degree in Media or related field who have an interest in teaching courses in our Department of Media core. Courses may include, but not be limited to Foundations of Media, Media and Culture Studies, The Entertainment Media, and Media Ethics and Social Responsibility. The candidate must have good interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a department that is cooperative and collegial. Qualified candidates should also have an interest in teaching classes related to media ethics and/or diversity, equity and inclusion.
Lifelong learning at Ball State University extends educational engagement beyond the classroom and includes learning for professional development, personal enrichment, or other goals throughout one’s lifetime. Faculty will be expected to participate in the department's, college's, and university's lifelong learning opportunities when available and may be assigned teaching responsibility in this area as part of their overall responsibilities.

Minimum Experience:

A master's degree in media or related field from an accredited university.

Preferred Experience:

Ph.D., Ed.D., or M.F.A. or other related terminal degree from an accredited institution. Candidates who are ABD will also be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who have at least 1-3 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
